Kathmandu, 27 December: A technical team from China has arrived in Nepal. The technicians of the China Rail-Way Survey and Design Group Company Limited of the Chinese government have arrived in Kathmandu this afternoon.
The team will prepare the engineering study report of the proposed railway. According to Rohit Kumar Bisural, Director General of the Department of Railways, this team will prepare a study report within 42 months. “The team will study at its own expense, we provide it security and facilitate in its work,” he s said adding, “Now it has paved the way for taking the project forward .”
The Chinese government has been stating that the the project is an important part of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and that China is always ready to implement the agreement. “The feasibility study and survey of the China-Nepal cross-border railway is a long-standing dream of the Nepali people and an important agreement between the leaders of our two countries,” China has been repeatedly saying.
