Kathmandu, 26 December: The President’s Office has prepared a swearing ceremony for the newly appointed Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda for 4 pm today.
Prachanda has dramatically become the Prime Minister after UML backed him in managing a minimum of 138 members in Parliament to form a government.
After breaking the five-party alliance, Prachanda became ready to join another alliance with UML and other small parties. UML chair K.P. Oli has seen a strategic player in the present game from which, he has become able to share major posts including the President and form coalition governments in different provinces. Nepali Congress, although the largest party, will lose all these opportunities and remain the main opposition party.
Earlier, in the previous five-party alliance, Prachanda had demanded the PM’s post during the first tenure of parliament by giving the president’s post to the NC. When NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife Dr Arzu Deuba declined to sacrifice the PM’s post and wait for two years for Deuba to become the PM, the entire game changed.
