Kathmandu, 24 December: A heated discussion is in progress between the top leaders of Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, United Socialist Party, Democratic Socialist Party and National People’s Front that jointly participated in the November 20 elections as to who will lead the next government.
Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s claim to be the Prime Minister has become the gridlock in coalition as the deadline given by the President Bidya Devi Bhandari to claim the Prime Ministership of the government according to Clause 2 of Article 76 of the Constitution by 5 o’clock on Sunday, is fast approaching.
Top leaders of the coalition have gathered to discuss the formation of the new government and power sharing though the ruling parties are striving to command majority and stake claim to the post of Prime Minister, the Nepali Congress and the CPN (Maoist Center) have expressed differences over the leadership of the new government.
