Kathmandu, 17 December: The Security Board of Nepal (SEBON) is taking action against two hydro power investors, Guru Neupane and Gyanendralal Pradhan. The board decided to take action against Neupane and Pradhan for selling shares against the rules. The meeting of the Board’s Board of Directors has asked for an explanation as to why Neupane and Pradhan should not be prosecuted.
Pradhan is the former chairman of Nepal Hydro Developers and Neupane is the chairman of Redi Hydro. Pradhan and Neupane sold the shares of the company while they were sitting of president. According to the securities law, there is a provision that the chairman and board of directors of a listed organization cannot sell shares in the name of his family for one year.
