Apex court denies to register petition against ordinance

Kathmandu, 16 December: The Supreme Court (SC) has denied to register writ petition against the ordinance brought by the government to grant amnesty for Nagarik Unmukti Party leader Resham Chaudhary and others involved in heinous crime including Nepali Congress leader Aftab Aalam.

The apex court denied to register the petition brought by advocate Kapil Dev Dhakal stating that it could not be registered as it has not been authenticated by President Bidya Devi Bhandari. “It would be premature to register the writ against the ordinance without knowing its content,” SC spokesperson is quoted as saying.
