Kathmandu, 13 December: The government has sent a draft of the ordinance to the President’s office for approval from President Bidya Devi Bhandari. The ordinance is related to granting amnesty to those who are facing jail terms on murder charges, will get amnesty.
Presently, the President is studying and consulting with constitutional experts regarding the draft of the ordinance submitted by the present caretaker government.
If the President will issue the ordinance, Resham Chaudhari involved in the Tikapur bloodbath, to Aftab Aalam, facing a jail term on the charge of killing innocent people will get amnesty, say legal experts.
Many workers of the Janamat Party and Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party Revolutionary will also get amnesty.
