Kathmandu, 9 December: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) a pro-monarchy, pro-Hindu and anti-federalism party has intensified its strength in the federal parliament with the representation of 14 MPs from one in the previous parliament.
Accordingly, the party has intensified its presence to 41 provincial assembly members from four members’ representation in seven provinces in the past.
In the federal parliament, the RPP won seven seats through the first-pass-the-post (FPTP) election and added seven seats through the proportional representation election.
In Province 1, the party has secured representation of six province assembly members.
In Madhesh Province, its total representation is 13 province assembly members.
In the Gandaki Province, the party has secured the representation of two province assembly members.
In Lumbini Province, the party will have four province assembly members.
In Karnali, the party will have one province assembly member.
In Far Western Province, one province assembly member represents the party.
In the political ranking, the party has emerged as the fifth largest party in the federal parliament.
Emergence of the party reflects increasing level of frustration among the people with the present federalism, secularism, republicanism, bad governance, rampant corruption and commission and other anomalies.
