After the sit-in started under the leadership of the Nepal Bar Association, the police tightened the security arrangements there. Rana is preparing to return to the Supreme Court after the Parliament Secretariat released his suspension on Wednesday.

Ninety-eight MPs of the ruling Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Center and CPN United Socialist Party had registered an impeachment motion against Rana in the parliament. However, the Parliament session ended without a decision on the impeachment motion.

In the meantime, the Parliament tenure was ended and a fresh election was held on 20 November electing new MPs.

The Parliament general secretary suddenly issued a letter today informing the President, the Prime Minister and other concerned sectors stating that Rana’s suspension has been over.
