Kathmandu, 2 December: Election Commission is all prepared to announce the final results of the elections for the federal parliament and seven provincial councils held on 20 November as vote counting is likely to be completed soon.
Out of the 165 election constituencies of the House of Representatives, the results of 162 constituencies have already been made public. Vote counting is underway in Syangja, Dolakha and Bhajura districts.
10.7 million votes for the proportional election have already been counted. According to the latest report, CPN-UML has bagged 2,773,999 votes. Nepali Congress has bagged 2,644,241 votes and Maoist Center has bagged 1,161,256 votes. Rastriya Swatantra Party received 1,119,996 votes; Rastriya Prajatantra Party received 587, 921 votes; Janta Samajbadi Party received 420, 931 votes and Janamat Party received 394,345 votes. The above seven parties have already crossed a 3 per cent threshold becoming the national parties.
Other political parties are yet to cross the 3 per cent threshold. The unified Socialist Party is close to the threshold and struggling for obtaining national party status.
