Speculations made in the political camps are that now the Nepali Congress has offered Surya Bahadur Thapa, chairman of the RPP, the Prime Minister’s post in another RPP-NC coalition government.
It is believed that when the UML interfered in the police force and changed the bureaucracy on the eve of local elections, leaders, of the NC became afraid that they may face a big setback in the forthcoming polls and that the UML will form a majority government in the country. So it felt NC has attempted to topple the government and then form another coalition by providing the Prime Ministership to Thapa.
Such an offer to Thapa by the NC has again created instability within the RPP.
