Kathmandu, 27 November: Laxmi Mahato of CPN-UML has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Mahottari-1.He won by 1,031 votes, surpassing his nearest contender Girirajmani Pokhrel of the Maoist Centre.Mahato garnered 24,401 votes while Pokhrel received 23,370 votes.

Similarly, UML’s Sharada Thapa won in the Mahottari-1 (1) state assembly by getting 8,245 votes.
