Kathmandu, 27 November: CPN-UML leader Subash Chandra Nemwang has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Ilam 2. He defeated Nepali Congress candidate Dambar Bahadur Khadka by a thin margin of 114 votes. Nemwang got 30 thousand 20 votes while Khadka got 29 thousand 906 votes.
Meanwhile, Jhalanath Khanal, a senior leader of the Unified Socialist Party, who is contesting the election for the member of the House of Representatives from the Ilam 1 constituency, has boycotted the vote counting alleging rigging in the election.
Mahesh Basnet, district chair of the UML, Ilam is leading the election and is close to his victory in defeating Khanal.
