Voting postponed at 15 places, one killed in police firing

Kathmandu, 21 November: Voting was suspended in 15 places on Sunday due to booth occupation, burning of ballot papers and incidents of hooliganism. In Bajura, one person was killed and some were injured due to police firing. The police headquarters said that except for sporadic incidents, voting was completed peacefully across the country.

Disputes in 71 places were recorded, police fired in air in 32 places to take situation under and voting was conducted in most of these places with the consent of all parties, states police headquarters. Police  were compelled to open fire in Bajura when Sanjiv Aidi, the deceased, tried to take away the voted ballot boxes.
