The nation goes for voting today

Kathmandu, 20 November: The much-awaited 20 November general elections have already kicked off today. By 7 am today, people have started to vote for their candidates for the post of the members of the House of Representatives and Province Assemblies. The voting will continue until 5 pm nationwide. 

179 hundred 88 thousand 570 people are registered in the voters’ list.

The Election Commission has managed 10 thousand 892 polling centres nationwide. 

For the first time, around 450 thousand people are registered as temporary voters and they are casting their votes for the candidates of the proportional election.

Today’s voting will elect 165 MPs through a direct election or First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) and 110 MPs through the proportional election for the Federal Parliament. 

Accordingly, 330 Province Council members are being elected through a direct election (FPTP) and 220 Province council members in seven provinces through proportional elections.
