Kathmandu, 13 November: The Nepal-India border will be closed 72 hours before the election of members of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly on 20 November.
A joint meeting of the security officials of both countries held at Jayanagar in Madhuvani district of India has decided to close the border 72 hours before the elections. Chief District Officer of Dhanusha Surendra Poudel informed that the decision to close the border was made 72 hours in advance as security challenges may increase during the election due to the open border.
