Heavy snowfall in Manang, trekkers suggested for staying safe

Kathmandu, 6 October: Heavy snowfall has hit Manang’s Disyang and Narpabhumi rural municipalities.

Locals are unable to go out of their homes due to the snowfall.

The area in-charge of the Annapurna Conservation Area in Manang, Lekhnath Gautam has informed that around 60 trekkers have been stuck in Manang due to the snowfall.

It is believed that there are 150 trekkers around Thorangla Pass, Yakkharka, Ledar, Thorangla Base Camp and the High Camp area.

The Annapurna Conservation Area officials have asked the trekkers to stay safe wherever they are and not to travel further until the weather improves, considering the high possibility of landslide in the area.
