Kathmandu, 2 October: Former King Gyanendra has decided not to offer the Dasain Tika to the commoners and also decided not to visit the famous Shaktipiths — shrines of Goddess Kali — considering the Dengue havoc in the country.
The King decided not to offer the Dasain Tika on 5 October as the nation is suffering from the Dengue pandemic, informed the King’s Press Secretary Dr Phani Pathak.
According to a press statement issued by Secretary Pathak, the King has also decided not to visit different Shaktipiths (shrines of Goddess Durga) on Astami Day (3 October) the eighth day of the Dasain festival.

The former King last year and before last year also didn’t offer Tika to the general public due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, President Bidya Devi Bhandari is going to offer the Dasain Tika to the government officials and commoners on Wednesday.
