NC’s dissident faction announces agitation

Kathmandu, 26 September: The dissatisfied faction in the Nepali Congress led by Dr Sekhar Koirala has announced launching protest programmes against the establishment faction’s unilateral decision in the party. 

This dissident faction has announced launching a sit-in protest at the party headquarters in Sanepa demanding a correction on the list of the proportional candidates. 

A meeting of the dissident faction on Monday decided to launch a sit-in protest on 28 September from 12 noon to 1 pm. 

The meeting also decided to launch more agitation programmes against party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s unilateral decision in the party. 

This faction has demanded a 40 per cent share in the distribution of the tickets for the candidates for the 20 November election. Otherwise, the dissident faction has warned of a revolt in the party.
