Kathmandu, 19 September: Constituent Assembly member Ramchandra Kushwaha (PASI), who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of UML leader Mahmud Alam, has been released from Birganj jail today.
Jailer Madan Ghimire of Birganj Jail said that he has been released on the occasion of Constitution Day. “There is a provision in the law to release prisoners who have served 40 percent of their imprisonment. At the recommendation Cabinet, President granted amnesty to him,” said Jailer Ghimire.
