
Kathmandu, 17 September: Prohibition of consumption of cigarettes, bidis, cigars, chewing tobacco, smokeless tobacco or other similar substances in public places in Kathmandu has come into effect from today.
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has stated that if anyone found smoking in public places, the person will be expelled from the public place or fined as prescribed by the Tobacco Products (Control and Regulatory) Act, 2011 for violating the law.
