Former King Gyanendra extends condolences on the death of Elizabeth II

Kathmandu, 9 September: Former King Gyanendra Shah has expressed his grief over the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. His press secretary Dr Phaniraj Pathak issued a statement stating that the former King was saddened by her death.

Recalling the diplomatic relations that have been established for more than two centuries between Nepal and Great Britain, she had given utmost priority to Nepal, the former King has stated. 

“We are saddened to hear the news of her death. It is always remembered that the late Queen was sitting on the throne for 7 decades and had performed dignified and high political values. Also, her profound affinity towards Nepal is always significant”, the former King has recalled.
