Kathmandu, 30 August: Nepali Hindu women are observing the Teej festival, also known as Haritalika Teej today by fasting for whole the day and worshipping Lord Shiva for the betterment of their husbands, getting a good husband and also for better conjugal life.
Women, mostly in red dresses and ornaments, visit different Shiva temples and perform a pooja. They gather around the temple and perform Teej songs and dances in a group.
In Kathmandu, women visit the Pashupatinath Temple and other Shiva temples.
