Kathmandu, 2 July: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that another international airport is needed in Nepal. While inspecting the ‘International Airport Construction Site’ in Nijgadh on Saturday, he said that there is a great need for a well-equipped international airport.
Talking to media persons after inspecting the airport construction area with the top leaders of the ruling coalition, he said, “We will build an airport with two runways. We are discussing with experts for that. We will build the airport at any cost in the area where it has been planned.
Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that there was no order from the Supreme Court to stop the construction of the airport. “There is no such order from the court to halt the airport construction. The airport will be built. Nijgadh Airport is also a dream project of national pride. The DPR of Kathmandu-Nijgadh Fast Track was also prepared keeping in view the need of Nijgadh Airport.
