Kathmandu, 26 June: Surya Shrestha, who was allegedly involved in the mysterious death of folk singer Dilmaya Sunar, has given a statement that he did not commit the murder. Police had arrested him after Dilmaya was found dead in a mysterious condition in a rented room at Nepaltar at 11 am on Saturday. He has been giving a statement that he did not kill Dilmaya from the very beginning.
“We both drank local liquor in Dilmaya’s room on Friday night and stayed up late. Then we both slept in the same room. But when I woke up in the morning, I saw Dilmaya hanging over the bed,” he said in a statement. He also said in his statement that he unfastened the shawl trap fastened around her by Dilmaya and threw it some five kilometes away at a drain in Chakrapath. He said he did so as he was scared. But he repeated that he did not commit the crime, according to police.
