Gaddi Baithak to reopen for public

Kathmandu, 29 March: The historic Gaddi Baithak, a part of the Hanumandhoka Durbar Square, is reopening to the public from Wednesday after its restoration. The historically significant Palace, which was open for the general public for the first time on November 27, 2019, was closed after the lockdown.

The palace would reopen for general public after formally announcing its reopening to the public by organising a special function today said the executive director of Hanumandhoka Durbar Museum Development Committee.

The palace which was damaged in 2015’s devastating earthquake was renovated with the funding from the US government in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology, Hanumandhoka Museum Development Committee and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
