Political Commentary

Those republican leaders never become tired of criticizing the King’s dynasty. They oppose the rule of the king’s dynasty.
When newly elected Rashtriya Prajatantra Party chairman Rajendra Lingden, while extending congratulations to the 14th national convention of the Nepali Congress, said that there should be the provision of a permanent institution of monarchy and directly elected executive chief (prime minister) for a sustainable democracy, the so-called communist leaders, chair of the UML K.P. Sharma Oli, Unified Socialist Party chair Madhav Nepal and Maoist Center chair Pushpakamal Dahal spent their time by opposing the dynasty system. All three leaders asked the king not to dream to return to the throne. Nepal, meanwhile, challenged the King for running a political party if the king has wished to come to the power.
Speaking the voice of the commoners, Lingden had said that the political leaders are compared with the thieves. While countering Lingden’s argument, it consumed a great deal of energy from the three so-called communist leaders. If there is one man who can speak the truth, he can easily dominate the entire mass, which was exhibited during the inaugural session of the Nepali Congress. Lingden was alone but he spoke the truth and the voice of the Nepali people.
When Prachanda asked the NC mass whether Lingden’s remarks were true or false, the mass had replied saying yes to Lingden. In response, Prachanda had to say, “No, this is not true!”
Of course, Lingden is true whether the leaders agree or not! The present political system, a byproduct of the 12-point Delhi agreement has already been proved unsuccessful in the country, still, those thieves are never tired from shouting it as an “offensive move”. They are reluctant to define the meaning of the “offensive move” and the “regressive move”!
Family dynasty in the Nepali Congress:
Of course, the king’s son will become the king, it is not odd. However, sons and daughters of those political leaders have tried to copy the monarchial rule and they have started to seek their influence in the party. Many of the candidates in the party election of the Nepali Congress were trying to establish their family dynasty. Sekhar Koirala, son of NC leaders Keshab Prasad Koirala and Nona Koirala, gave candidacy to the post of the NC president to return the NC politics to the Koirala family. Shashank Koirala, son of NC’s founding leader B.P. Koirala didn’t file his candidacy in support of his cousin Sekhar. It is said that Sekhar would support Shashank in the next party election.
Sujata Koirala, daughter of Girija Prasad Koirala had given candidacy to the post of the vice president from Prakashman Singh’s panel. She wanted to challenge Sekhar as the Koirala brothers insulted her. Sekhar, Shank and Sujata were groomed by Girija as the future leader of the party. Otherwise, both Sekhar and Shank are medical practitioners by profession. They joined politics lately and they both were picked up by Girija. Girija had a strong love for his only daughter Sujata. Married to a German national, Sujata was brought back to Nepal, who later became the deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Nepal under the blessing of Girija.
Prakashman Singh also contested the party election. He is the son of the late Ganeshman Singh. He is always trying to sell his father Ganeshman Singha. Prakashman has very little contribution to the party compared to P.L. Singh, who is currently inactive in politics.
Bimalendra Nidhi is the son of Mahendranarayan Nidhi. He had also contested the election to the post of the party president. He was projecting his father.
The Nepali Congress is the oldest political party, however, it is highly dominated by those sons and daughters of the NC leaders in the past. Many NC cadres who had contributed a lot to the party, have already been disappeared as there is strong domination of the family dynasty in the party.
Earlier, when Sher Bahadur Deuba tried to destroy the Koirala dynasty, he was considered to be a courageous leader. Finally, he became the party president by defeating the late Sushil Koirala. However, Deuba is also trying to establish his own dynasty by bringing his wife Arju and son into NC politics.
Indeed, we talk about democracy but we have not been able to give the slavery mentality. Taking benefit of the Nepali mentality, those political leaders, who have already been proved incapable, have been able to rule on us.
