Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has administered the oath of office and secrecy to a newly elected member of the House of Representatives Suwarna Jwarchan.
Jwarchan was elected to the Lower House under the proportional representation (PR) category from the ticket of the Nepal Congress in the seat that has remained vacant after the demise of lawmaker Gyan Kumari Chhantyal.
Chhantyal, 63, died of cancer July 1.
Late Chhantyal was also a member of the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee of the parliament.
