Thapa and Bhatta boycott Dahal’s meeting

Kathmandu, 20 July: Amid escalating tension between Chairman duo of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his arch-rival Khadga oli, Dahal has held a meeting with his confidants at his residence in Khumaltar and discussed the future strategy to be taken.

The Standing Committee members belonging to the erstwhile Maoist were invited for the meeting. However, Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa and Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Lekh Raj Bhatta did not attend it. Dahal is mulling to relieve Bhatta from the Ministry while Thapa is against the idea of removing Oli from party chair and premiership.

According to media reports, Dahal called the meeting of the former Maoist leaders to make sure that they are united on the party agenda and apprise them that he had not forged any agreement with Oli with regard to convening party’s convention in November/December.
