Kathmandu, 9 December : Nepal Student Union, the student wing of the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has demanded that Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa immediately resign taking responsibility of the suppression of a peaceful protest launched by students of Kohalpur in Banke district on Sunday.
After a truck hit injured a schoolgirl in the city yesterday morning, the local school students had obstructed the road and staged a demonstration. In their bid to resume the obstructed traffic, police had baton-charged the demonstrators. Some police personnel and students were injured in the clash.
