Following an order from the Kathmandu District Attorney’s Office, Dr. Roopjyoti was released on Friday.
Police had arrested him on a fraud case.
The Attorney’s Office has decided to send the documents related to Jyoti to the Higher Attorney’s Office with remarks that the fraud case could not be filed against Jyoti.
Jyoti and his daughter Suruchi were arrested by the Police from the Tribhuvan International Airport upon their arrival from Singapore on November 7 following a complaint registered by Bigyendrakrishna Malla on a fraud case.
His arrest was strongly opposed by the business community.
He was accused of cheating assets equivalent to Rs. 20 million whereas he earns Rs. 4 billion from interest alone, said a businessman. “As such no believes that he has involved in the fraud.”
