Kathmandu, 4 November: The Kathmandu District Court today gave the order to keep former speaker Krishnabahadur Mahara under arrest. Along with the Court order, Mahara’s post as Member of Parliament will also be suspended in accordance to the Constitution.
Mahara is facing rape attempt case. Immediately after the complaint, Mahara had tendered resignation from the post of the speaker, however, he didn’t resign from the post of the MP.
After the Court order, Mahara has been sent to the Charkhal jail in Dillibazar.
