Kathmandu, 26 October: The Nepal Communist Party has named Bidhya Bhattarai, widow of late Rabindra Adhikari as its candidate to the post of Member of Parliament from Kaski Electoral Constituency No 2.
The NCP district committee meeting held on Friday has named Bidhya Bhattarai as its candidate in the sub-poll to be held on 30 November.
NCP central committee had asked the Kaski district committee to recommend names of the candidate. The district committee meeting unanimously named Bhattarai as its candidate.
Late Adhikari was elected from Kaski No 2 constituency and had become minister for tourism, civil aviation and culture.
After Adhikari’s death in a helicopter crash, the MP’s post had remained vacant.
Jasha Party has already named Rajani KC as the party’s candidate.
NC is yet to name its candidate.
