Kathmandu, 25 October: The Nepal Communist Party’s government here has given priority to the relations with Venezuela, which has become the issue of serious concern for the US, according to the Reporters Nepal.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is holding a meeting with Venezuela’s President Maduro in Baku, Azerbaijan on the sideline of the NAM Summit. At the time when the US has taken strong policy against Venezuela, the communist government in Nepal has tried to develop close relations with her, from which the US has become alert.
The American dissatisfaction has now been surfaced. The issue of Nepal’s communist leaders’ opposition on the Indo-Pacific Strategy and signing on the China’s development strategy BRI has been raised by the American Senators.
After signing on BRI, the Millennium Challenge Cooperation project of the US has been kept impending in the Parliament. The ruling party is divided on endorsement of the MCC project. NCP co-chair and PM KP Sharma Oli is in support of the MCC endorsement from the Parliament within this year. On the other hand, another co-chairman Pushpakamal Dahal is reluctant on endorsement.
Dev Gurung, NCP leader closed to Dahal has remarked the Indo-Pacific Strategy is the design to convert South Asia as the war zone. When negative propaganda was spread against the Indo-Pacific Strategy, America ambassador Randy Berry is defending the Strategy by making a video.
Americans have said that after the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Chinese influence in Nepal has intensified.
