Kathmandu, 15 August: On the occasion of the Independence Day of Pakistan, the flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan on 14 August. This year Pakistan Independence Day is being observed in solidarity with the people of Kashmir in their struggle for their right of self-determination.
Ambassador Mazhar Javed hoisted the flag. Embassy officials and Pakistani community in Kathmandu attended the ceremony.
Independence Day messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read out. President Arif Alvi, in his message said that the Independence day reinvigorated the spirit of patriotism and the desire to serve the country. In his message, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan reassured the people of Kashmir that Pakistan will continue to provide political, diplomatic and moral support to their just struggle for the right of self-determination.
Accordingly, on the occasion of the Pakistan Independence Day, the Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association organised a reception on the occasion of the 72rd Independence Day of Pakistan in Capital on Wednesday.
On the occasion, National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina talked about various dimensions of Nepal-Pakistan relations and praised the support of Pakistan in Nepal’s development endeavors.
Similarly, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, praised the progress achieved by Pakistan in difficult situation and added that both the countries have been collaborating in SAARC, Non-Aligned movement and the UN.
Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal, Mazhar Javed, Association Chair Himalaya Shumsher JB Rana, among others stated that Nepal and Pakistan enjoyed very cordial relations at the government and people’s level.
