Professors padlock VC’s chamber

Kathmandu, 11 August :Protesting professors of the Kathmandu University on Sunday padlocked offices of its vice chancellor and registrar, demanding their resignation.

The KU Professors Association says it padlocked the offices of VC Ram Kantha Makaju and registrar Subodh Sharma, concluding removing them from the institution was a must to retain the university’s public image.

The association has cited that some recent incidents including the controversial appointment of three assistant professors and the appointment of an executive council member have proved that the university is not operating in compliance with basic principles of good governance and in partnership of all stakeholders.
