Lawmakers of Nepal are probably the greediest creatures in the world. When many of them do not hesitate to receive house allowance despite owning a house in Kathmandu, they have now demanded Dashain allowance as if they were civil servants. Every year they draw Rs. 60 million in the name of the constituency development programmes besides drawing salaries and other facilities.
Recently, they have sought the Dashain allowance, which showed that they are to amass money, not to serve the people.
However, their demand is likely to be met as Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada is also positive towards the demand.
