Kathmandu, 3 June:A senior leader associated with the Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party has joined the ruling party, NCP.
According to Gorkhapatra daily, Padam Rai, a former Maoist rebel had joined the Biplav group after quitting from the Mohan Baidya-led Maoist party.
Welcoming Rai to the party, NCP co-chair Prachand said, “We are heading in the right direction. I have known Rai for a long time, his experience will definitely take the party forward.”
“The party was heading towards a wrong direction which is why I decide to quit. I do not support the killing of innocent people,” Rai said.
