NC has constituted its shadow government. NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba who had earned bad name for forming the largest council of ministers in the past has not given up his habit even while forming the shadow government. The newly formed shadow government has 58 members, bigger than the council of ministers formed in the past.
The NC has named coordinator for each ministry with two other members. Gyannedra Bahadur Karki leads the shadow government as coordinator for the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation. Satya Narayan Khanal and Gyan Kumari Chanthyal are other members.
The coordinators for the shadow government are Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Narayan Khadka, Ministry of Finance Minendra Rijal,Ministry of Home Affairs
Dilendra Prasad Badu, Ministry of Urban Development Umakanta Chaudhary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Kishore Singh Rathour and Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Min Bahadur Bishwakarma.
Likewise, Gagan Kumar Thapa coordinates the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Sujata Pariyarb Ministry of Water Supply, Parvati DC Chaudhari Ministry of Health and Population, Devendra Raj Kandel Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Dila Sangroula Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Bahadur Singh Lama Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Laxmi Pariyar Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.
Responsibility to look into the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration went to Atahar Kamal Musalman, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock to Padma Narayan Chaudhary, Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens to Uma Regmi, Ministry of Defence to Bhimsen Das Pradhan, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport to Sanjaya Kumar Gautam, Ministry of Forest and Environment to Rajendra Kumar KC andMinistry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to Radheshyam Adhikari.
The Nepali Congress that had been saying that it would form its shadow government since long came up with the list of its coordinators and members to function as shadow government only last week.
