The ruling CPN marked the 38th memorial day of Rishi Raj Devkota Azad who got martyrdom during the Panchayat period this week.
Addressing the function, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that the time in which one had to sacrifice his life for political rights was over.
Addressing the function orgainsed at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, Prime Minister Oli said that everyone should now work to strengthen federal democratic republic which was achieved only due to the sacrifice made by the revolutionaries in the past.
He said that the government was moving on the path of achieving the goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’ to realise the dreams of the great martyrs.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also released ‘Sahid Rishiraj Devkota Azad: Nepali Krantika Abhimanyu’, a book published in memory of late Azad.
Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokharel and Goma Devkota, wife of late Azad, were present on the occasion.
