Energy Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi is running behind commission rather than looking after nation’;s interests. In his recent efforts, Rayamajhi has planned to reward an American company by endorsing power purchase agreement (PPA) in the US dollar. Until now, such deals in US dollar have caused a heavy loss to the nation. By bypassing the government provision, through the minister-level decision, Raayamajhi is trying to endorse the deal on the Tila 1 hydropower project generating 440 MW electricity.
Business observers say Rayamajhi is an appearance of the Maoist Centre that shows how far the party is patriotic the party really is.
