Api Himal landslide risks blocking Chaulani ribver in Darchula

Kathmandu, September 4: A landslide has fallen into the Chaulani River at Bhattar in Ward No. 1 of Api Himal Rural Municipality in Darchula, partially blocking the river. As landslides continue to come down from above, the risk of the river being completely blocked has increased, according to the District Administration Office, Darchula.

To prevent possible danger and minimize loss of life and property, the District Administration Office has urged residents living along the riverbanks and concerned agencies to maintain extreme caution. According to a public notice issued by Chief District Officer Bartaraj Paudel, various hotline and telephone numbers have been made public for immediate contact in the event of any flood- or disaster-related incident or if rescue assistance is required.
