New track construction begins at Krishnabhir

Kathmandu, Sept 4: Construction of a new road track has begun after a section of the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir in Dhading was washed away by flooding in the Trishuli River.

The devastating floods in the Trishuli River on Bhadra 10 (August 26) and subsequent flooding eroded the highway, completely severing the road network at the affected section. A large portion of the road was swept away, disrupting transportation along the highway.

With traffic halted due to the break in the road network, efforts to open a new track at the site have been accelerated to restore connectivity. The Department of Roads and other relevant agencies are working to establish a new route and reconnect the highway.

The floods in the Trishuli River on August 26 have claimed around 1,200 lives, with their bodies recovered, while more than 4,000 people remain missing.
