Global IME Bank Unveils 2083 BS Calendar Featuring Divine Colors and Philosophy of Paubha Art

Global IME Bank Limited has released its new calendar for the year 2083 BS (Bikram Sambat), featuring images that capture the divine colors and philosophy of Paubha art.

During a ceremony held at the bank’s corporate office in Kamaladi, the Chairman of the bank and President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, along with the founder and executive director of the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Prof. Dr. Sanduk Ruit, jointly unveiled the 2083 BS calendar.

Paubha art is an indigenous painting style of the Newar community. The calendar specifically features rare paintings of Paubha art, which holds a deep-rooted connection with the Newar community residing in the Kathmandu Valley. Although it may appear similar to Thangka art, Paubha possesses its own distinct identity and philosophical depth.

For the past several years, the bank has been incorporating indigenous artworks into its calendars to protect and promote Nepali art, literature, culture, and civilization.

In 2079 BS, the bank featured paintings reflecting Nepal’s indigenous Mithila culture; in 2080 BS, it featured Mandala paintings; in 2081 BS, it showcased ancient artifacts repatriated to the country at various times; and in 2082 BS, it published a calendar featuring rare photographs reflecting old Nepali lifestyles.

The event was attended by the bank’s Chief Executive Officer Surendra Raj Regmi, Deputy CEO Suman Pokharel, CEO of Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology Dr. Rita Gurung, along with other senior management officials of the bank.

Global IME Bank has been honored in various categories by prestigious national and international institutions.
