Two Nepali nurses die in road accident in Australia

Sydney, Sept 7:Two Nepali nurses died in a road accident in Melbourne, Australia. The accident occurred on the Hume Highway near Craigieburn in the northern part of the city.

According to local police, the crash happened while they were returning home after celebrating a birthday with friends. The nurses were fatally injured when they tried to rescue an injured kangaroo on the highway.

The victims, Sarala and Aruja, both worked at Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. Police said they had stopped their car to help the kangaroo when another speeding vehicle struck them from behind.

One of the nurses died at the scene, while the other passed away at the hospital. Police have launched an investigation, suggesting the accident may have been caused because the speeding vehicle failed to notice the stopped car in the dark.
