Indian Foreign Secretary Misri in town

Kathmandu, August 17: Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri arrived here this morning on a two-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai.

Misri arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 9 am. During his stay in Kathmandu, he will meet President Ramchandra Paudel, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Maoist Centre chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba.

Misri is expected to hand over a formal invitation to Prime Minister Oli for an official visit to India.

After completing the political meetings and engagements, he will hold delegation-level talks with Foreign Secretary Rai.

During the visit, the two Foreign Secretaries will discuss various aspects of Nepal-India partnership with a focus on connectivity, development cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.

He is scheduled to leave Kathmandu on August 18.
