Kathmandu, June 7: The cabinet meeting held on Thursday, June 6, has decided to recall Nepali ambassadors to different 11 countries appointed under the Nepali Congress quota by the previous alliance government. Besides, the ambassadors appointed under the recommendation of the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal led by Upendra Yadav and also Nepal Samajwadi Party led by Baburam Bhattarai have also been recalled. Ambassadors to Qatar and Malesya, appointed under the recommendation of the Madhav Nepal-led party, an alliance in the present government, have also been recalled.
Government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma informed that ambassadors to India, the USA, the UK, South Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, and Israel have been recalled.
Ambassadors to Denmark and Spain were appointed from Yadav’s party, whereas, the ambassador to Saudi Arabia was appointed from Bhattara’s party.
Ambassadors recalled by the government are Shankar Sharma, India; Sridhar Khatri, USA; Gyanchandra Acharya, London; Salin Nepal, Portugal; Kanta Rijal, Israel; Jyoti Pyakurel, South Korea; Nawaraj Subedi, Saudi Arabia; Dilliram Poudel, Malaysia, Ramswartha Ray, Denmark; Nareshbikram Dhakal, Qatar; Sharmila Parajuli, Spain. PM Dahal decided to recall ambassadors after consultation with UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli.
