The agreement on the Arun III project between Nepal and the World Bank, as well as other donors, will be signed by January 1994, says Janaj Lal Karmacharya, director of the project.
He said that the World Bank had set various requirements, most of which have already been fulfilled by Nepal. His conditions included raising the power tariff at least to meet the local cost.
The load-shedding will continue till some new project is gins to general electricity in sufficient amount. But after the damaged Kulekhani project resumes electricity supply tomorrow, the hours of load-shedding will be fewer, said Kirtichanda Thakur, a former manager and director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
