Kathmandu, October 9: Advance ticket bookings for Dashain open today. Passengers had already begun lining up at Kathmandu’s New Bus Park on Thursday night, even before ticket bookings officially opened. The government had decided to open advance bus ticket bookings from Friday for people traveling home to celebrate Dashain.
A meeting held at the Department of Transport Management on Tuesday, Ashoj 20, between the department, Nepal Police, transport entrepreneurs, and transport workers decided to open advance ticket bookings for Dashain from Ashoj 23. However, passengers traveling to some districts began queuing for tickets on Thursday night.
Pankaj Malla, general manager of Lotse Multipurpose Pvt. Ltd., which operates the New Bus Park, said that passengers began lining up to purchase tickets at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Malla said that passengers traveling to Bajhang, Bajura, and Dhangadhi had arrived at the New Bus Park on Thursday night and joined the ticket queue. To facilitate advance ticket bookings for Dashain, Lotse Multipurpose Pvt. Ltd. has added 15 ticket counters at the New Bus Park.
