The highest number of tourists so far in the current fiscal year visited the area in Asoj. A total of 17,913 tourists arrived in Bhadau and 26,591 in Shrawan. According to Dr. Kaderia, tourist arrivals generally increase during Asoj and Kartik, the main tourist seasons.
The project office maintains records only of foreign tourists trekking along the Annapurna Circuit. A large number of domestic tourists also visit the Annapurna region every year by road. As autumn is considered the best season for trekking, the region remains a popular destination among trekking enthusiasts.
During this season, domestic and foreign tourists flock to destinations along the Annapurna Circuit, including Annapurna Base Camp, Mardi Himal, Ghandruk, Tilicho Lake in Manang, Thorong La Pass, Upper Mustang and Ghodepani in Myagdi.
According to project chief Dr. Kaderia, many people go trekking between the Dashain and Tihar festivals. Covering an area of 7,600 square kilometres, the Annapurna Conservation Area is considered an attractive trekking destination. Tourists are drawn to the region by its natural beauty, biodiversity, Himalayan lifestyles and cultural heritage.
Short-, medium- and long-distance trekking routes in the Annapurna region can be accessed through Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, Myagdi and other areas. The Annapurna Conservation Area encompasses 87 wards across 15 local levels in Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, Myagdi and Mustang districts.
The Annapurna Circuit is regarded as an excellent destination for trekking because of its attractive destinations, tourism-friendly infrastructure, hospitality and quality services.
