Kathmandu, March 8: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the people and government of Nepal for the successful completion of the recent elections.
In a message posted on Facebook, Modi described the election as a “historic milestone” in Nepal’s democratic process.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people and the government of Nepal for successfully and peacefully conducting the elections,” Modi wrote. “I am very happy to see my Nepali sisters and brothers exercising their democratic rights with such enthusiasm.”
Calling the achievement a proud moment for Nepal, Modi also said India remains committed to working with Nepal’s new government as a close neighbor.
He added that India will continue to stand with Nepal in efforts to achieve shared peace, progress, and prosperity.
